Large-scale brainstem neuroimaging and genetic analyses provide new insights into the neuronal mechanisms of hypertension We report structural and genetic links between the brainstem and blood pressure traits. We identified 65 shared loci between brainstem volumes and blood pressure traits and mapped these to 71 genes. The findings provide insights into shared genetic pathways and mechanisms linking brainstem and blood pressure traits.
