Itβs never lost on me about what it means to offer my two cents in these important moments for major platforms that continue to make space to contribute.

I rarely post on here, but this felt like a here kinda post.
βWhen youβre writing, youβre trying to find out something which you donβt know. The whole language of writing for me is finding out what you donβt want to know, what you donβt want to find out. But something forces you to anyway.β
- Baldwin, The Paris Review (1984)
I always felt our paths were bound to cross (s/o Jina DuVernay). Last night, it happened. The conversation felt as familiar as Iβd anticipated, and the audienceβs energy renewed my ardor for the sheer power of storytelling.
I did not write about it in the book, but I wore a Park Madison NYC T-shirt with their names on it the Decatur Book Festival in 2019, I reviewed βWhen They See Usβ for public and academic outlets, and I spoke their names every opportunity I had, knowing our histories were connected.
In many ways, this was a profound, full-circle moment β professionally and personally. The βCentral Park Fiveβ case has been ever-present in my research leading up through my first book.
Last night, I had the privilege of sitting down with Raymond Santana to discuss his new young adult illustrated memoir, Pushing Hope. The book traces his powerful journey from his move to Harlem, through his arrest and trial, time in prison, and his ongoing fight for justice since his exoneration.
Best shot Iβve seen of it. Crazy how close it was!
π£οΈDaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Blue Jays lose!
I thought Iβd come over here to see @profloumoore.bsky.social posting about @nba.com opening night.
Community sports watching ainβt been the same since that guy ruined the other site.

Napheesa Collier's full statement at the beginning of her exit interview.
She directly quotes conversations with Cathy Englebert that legitimately call into question how the WNBA is being led. (Part 1/2) #WNBASky

Also, Caleb taught his classmates about βJackie!β today, too. #JackieRobinsonDay
"I believe in the goodness of a free society. And I believe that society can remain good only as long as we are willing to fight for it β and to fight against whatever imperfections may exist."
The echoes of Jackie's courage, a constant presence in my thoughts, writing, and teaching. On this #JackieRobinsonDay, the silence of the sporting world feels heavy, a stark contrast to the world's unraveling.
Say @profloumoore.bsky.social β¦ I hear you like them Bruinsβ¦
