The solar punk discussion reminded me of Pacific Edge by Kim Stanley Robinson. Part of his three Californias trilogy (trilogies are real, sorry duologies). Enjoyed all three of these books but the ideas in Pacific Edge still resonate with me. I think you guys would like KSR. Will check out Monk/Rob!

I’ve heard that one reason Eric Stolz didn’t work for the part of Marty is that he dwelled too much on the tragic parts of the story and it came through in his acting as a big old downer.
I never put that together. The don’t back down thing always seemed kind of tacked on for the plot of 2 and 3 to work. But your explanation makes sense. They could have played that up more.
I vividly remember bringing the CD-ROM home. I bought it because I like WC2. Then I looked at the back of the box for WC3 and saw the cast… I couldn’t believe they got these actors to be in this. I still can’t believe it. Amazing game! I was so relieved when it actually worked on my janky computer!🤣
And incredibly his survival made sense within the context of the story! How did the Dark Empire do it?
