We gotta institute a recall process for Senators, 6 years is way too long to deal with this bullshit

*rather than the other way around
It can’t be right that 9/10 times when Arsenal Player A has the ball wide of the box and is looking to pass to Arsenal Player B, who is darting into the box via the interior lane between the fullback and center back, Player A is a winger and Player B is a fullback.
I’m not sure if it relates to double-pivot vs single, but the formation thing that drives me up a wall is our fullbacks underlapping so goddamned always. It’s worse on the right side than the left but either way can we please have the dribbly/shooty players closer to the goal than the defenders are?
It’s a completely bizarre conceit which crumbles under any scrutiny at all and people should be made to be embarrassed for saying it out loud
BAM ADEBAYO SHOT 43 FREE THROWS ON THE NIGHT JAYLEN BROWN GOT EJECTED OVER INCONSISTENT OFFICIATING?
Unclear whether their goal is for this to be a Bay of Pigs-style thing, where the initial attack is doomed but designed to force Congress’ hand to support a larger invasion, or if Trump, Hegseth, et al. are simply terrorists at heart with no goal besides blowing stuff up
There definitely is a plan, but the plan is for a proper, full-scale war of the kind that Trump would actually need Congress (and an Iraq-style consent manufacturing process) to initiate, which they have no appetite to go through.
In general there’s a really perverse thing where certain guys who lose their shit all the time get a much longer leash from refs than other guys who rarely get very vocal. Tom Izzo is another good example of this.
If we’re throwing Jaylen Brown out of the game for that, Draymond Green should never have finished a game in his life
OPINION: I asked a former Trump official to justify this war
So the case for Congress is, once we have gone to war, if they don’t like it, they can remove the money? Congress does not have a constitutional role in the declaration of war. Congress has a role in cutting off funds for wars, which it has threatened to do. And the president doesn’t have to get permission. But yes, you can debate, you can decide. That’s his choice in how he wants to do it. I mean, here I will quote the Constitution: “The Congress shall have power to declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water.”
Behold the intellectual might of the conservative legal movement
It’s very rude to Brian Scalabrine to have a show where you make him stand directly next to Chris Bosh.
Having some difficulty explaining the concept of halftime to my 2 year old, who is looking at the halftime show and (reasonably, I guess) telling me “it’s over”
Saw the pass, saw Jaylen was back, thought oh, JB’s got this. Nope. Unguardable. Phenomenal pass.
Said it before and I'll say it again: In a world where all evil is cartoonishly obvious, the cartoonishly obvious answer here — Donald Trump had Jeffrey Epstein murdered and the footage destroyed — is clearly the correct one
Indisputably true, which is why the purpose of public universities ought to be to democratize access to studying the humanities (and the other things a university teaches) to common people as well.
The wealthiest, most cosseted, most physically safe people in the history of the world decided to destroy the system that made them that way because they had to listen to a dreadlocked Columbia grad tell them “it’s bad to use slurs at work” for 2 hours a year and they couldn’t handle it. Pathetic.
I went to an establishment offering this when I was a very stupid 23 year old, can confirm that it kicked ass
White people really spent decades making vicious jokes about Black naming conventions only to elect someone named “Markwayne” to the United States Senate
These are the types of posts I need to see more Dem senators making
You’d really think one or two of these guys might remember how a guy named Obama who no one had ever heard of 4 years prior beat Hilary Clinton in 2008 almost entirely on the strength of “I didn’t vote for Iraq.” But unfortunately this is America in 2026 so learning from past experience is illegal
this is not an amount of money any individual or household should be able to have and we have to abolish both billionaires as a group and the economic system that makes them possible
a thing historians will marvel about when they study this era is the extent to which the "war is a thing that happens to poorer, browner people" class went about systematically dismantling every aspect of the global political order that confined the costs of war to poorer and browner people
So, all those firms that capitulated did so for no reason. They showed their bellies while absolutely botching the law and misreading the politics to boot. Tough scene, hard to come back from.
Fitting that in America’s final form, the epicenter of evil will be a private golf resort for wealthy pedophiles.
indiscriminately bombing Iran is not a distraction of the Epstein files, it is a validation of their significance as more than a sex pest hunt. this is what elite impunity for morons looks like. a school turned to rubble on a whim.
the entire pitch of Cuomo was that sure he's a loathsome sex pest but he has what it takes to stand up to Trump, and then the hot leftist starts every phone call with "what's up big dog" and gets Trump to do whatever he wants.
Point of order: we need to distinguish between non-denominational evangelical Protestants (newer, heavily associated with chuddism and Generic American Whiteness) and mainline Protestant denominations (churches that date to colonial times, are more specifically WASPy, are often more liberal), no?
the classic sci fi novel Don't Create The Torment Nexus didn't prepare me for how stupid the Torment Nexus would be in real life
That’s cool, probably no big deal, especially not in combination with the news earlier this week that the Pentagon is trying to extort Anthropic into letting them build robot weapons that will fire without human input.
