John Caird and Paul Gordon's Jane Eyre makes its UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse Elephant in August.

Based on Charlotte Brontë's iconic tale, the musical will be co-directed by John Caird and Megan McGinnis, and reimagined with bold new staging.

Simon Reade's new stage adaptation of Patrick Hamilton's classic novel, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky, comes to Southwark Playhouse Borough this September.

This epic tale follows three lonely Londoners looking for connection in the smoky, sprawling streets of 1920s Jazz Age London.

Armed with supplies to last a year, one survivor locks himself inside bunker B-103 to wait it out. But as isolation begins to warp his sense of reality, survival itself starts to feel dangerous.

At 08:06 GMT this morning a bus hit into the window frontage of Southwark Playhouse Borough after a collision on Newington Causeway. Our venue was closed at the time and no members of Southwark Playhouse staff were present or injured. We can confirm that both of our venues will be open and operating as normal this evening. Our thoughts are with those injured in the collision and we wish them speedy recoveries.
