Are cost-of-living adjustments made based on a the year-over-year of a single monthly data point or on the 12-month average?

Yeah, it's a nothing burger. There's enough to criticize here with the no tax under $50 million and taxing billionaires out of existence without inventing new things to complain about.

Yes, cost of living must be assessed on an annual basis, as is the case now. Does not say to not collect monthly data (annual is an average of monthly data) and I think that's an odd read to assume it implies that here.

I didn't like Carney's statement. It is possible though to both disagree with the US-Israel invasion in Iran and to think that Iran is a fundamentalist terrorist state that has destabilized the region.

Saying that more died from COVID under Biden is like saying all the job losses that occurred in 2009 from the recession that started under Bush was Obama's fault.

It is possible to criticize the opinion of someone who is Muslim, Jewish, Black, Gay, Trans, etc., without it being because they are Islamaphobic, antisemitic, racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. Sometimes people just have bad opinions.

Bluesky really does have a problem with causation and correlation. "Criticizing someone who is X" does not automatically mean "criticizing someone because they are X."
