A rural Kansas county is postcard perfect. Its for-profit jail is a way station to deportation hell. • Kansas Reflector For years the 148-bed detention center, owned and operated by the county, has been a major source of revenue.

ICE tricked this woman, who is married to a US citizen and is the mother of an American citizen, to come for an interview and then arrested her for having missed a court date years ago. This is the opposite of everything America stands for—or used to stand for.
