In the mood for wild garlic in everything just now, it's so fresh and green and looks and tastes like spring. Picked a bunch this afternoon and I've just stirred some into my lunchtime bowl of tomato soup. Gives most things a bit of a lift, unless of course you dislike garlic.
Winter heliotrope I believe, should have quite a strong vanilla scent.

Stunning photo. It must be amazing to watch, if you arenβt in a tent that is. We had our own bad storm last week. Stay safe.
Are you managing ok?

Thinking of blues that grace my garden for #GardensHour and I always come back to The Blue Pot. Itβs big enough for me to climb inside and sit down (should I ever want to) and I absolutely love it. Blue is my favourite colour.

Aries: All your prayers will be answered this week! The answer will be no.
Cherry plum in flower against a blue sky. Great to see these first signs of spring.
Delighted to get a start made on the garden today, even though I could hardly move because of the five layers of clothes I was wearing. Social media reminded me earlier that this day last year there was snow lying four inches thick on my patio table. Not gardening weather at all.
Carrot, cumin and ginger soup with the first of the wild garlic. The leaves are still tiny and the flavour is very subtle, but it still feels like a taste of spring.
I might take the train down and have a look.
Great that the starlings are still doing their thing. I read an article some time ago that said light pollution had badly affected the murmuration. Perhaps they've just got used to it.
Never forget that EVERYTHING you read on the internet is true and accurate and meant with the utmost gravity and seriousness.
Goodnight from Fay Walker, preparing a merciless curse for all those who use the tower block lift as a public urinal. Goodnight from the ghosts of the Weychester University Caving Club, continuously hoping for rescue from the Wormβs Hole since 1949. Goodnight from Hookland.
Doing the dry January thing. Started a week late but January has five weeks this year, as if four wasn't plenty. Not much fun so far, but then nor is January. The year's bullying firstborn, to be followed by drab little February, the runt of the litter.
A breezy afternoon walk to the βcake tinβ with moody skies thrown in.
I recognise and acknowledge that many people sustain unsupportable losses through no fault of their own, and others are happy to help financially if they can. I'm referring more to the ingrained reluctance to ask for help or have others know their business that's been a constant in how I was raised.
Isn't it pretty? I'm told it's part of what used to be a rock-encircled natural swimming pool complete with man-made diving board. By the looks of it that was the 'deep end' and indeed for a rock pool it was actually quite deep. I had my eye on my two terriers in case they blundered in.
I have to say GoFundMe really puts me off. Personally I find it hard to think of a scenario where I'd ask complete strangers for money. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with asking strangers for money, and unforeseen situations can happen to us all. It's just not for me.
Will he manage the next four years is always a valid question. He's no spring chicken.
Goodnight from Amber Soans, humming old mere tithe songs as she sews flags for the upcoming Empress Eel parade. Goodnight from Maxine Till, sure her great-grandmotherβs portrait photo has changed its expression as a sign that her new lover is wrong βun. Goodnight from Hookland.
A winter wreath I made this afternoon. The ivy berries arenβt quite ripe yet and the oranges are leftovers from Christmas but I love the dark, rich tones of late winter evergreen foliage.
When making tea for a group, making it in a teapot is no more effort and much more inviting.
A calm winter seascape at Castlerock, Co.Derry.
I got mine last year, have never used it.
