WhenI first read this book, I literally followed my partner round the house (as he did chores) reading it AT him, it’s so good and really good read aloud…parts are like a sound-poem, more feeling than word. I still can’t believe this was his first novel. GO READ IT.
I’m sad that it’s 2026 and a headline like this in a medical journal drops in my inbox.
I worry that we are unable to evolve with compassion, & that the recent flag-waving turn to the right in the UK & elsewhere fans the flames of everyday racism.
