Very much looking forward presenting our research on ubiquitin motif containing chaperones and their role in proteostasis at the #Ubiquitin&Friends Symposium in Vienna.
📢Job alert📢
@uniheidelberg.bsky.social has an opening for a full W3-position on “Modeling of Biological Processes” 😀👍 Here is the call

and application deadline is March 15. The group would be located at the beautiful #BioQuant center right in the middle of Neuenheimer Feld.
So muss das sein. UNVEU 🤘
da bin ich ganz bei Dir - aber heute gehts gegen Union (UNVEU) - holt die 3 Punkte gerne gegen die Bayern nächste Woche 😉
First time India for me. Fantastic meeting on organellar proteostasis. Met some familiär faces of the SPP Miostasis and plenty (new) proteostasis afficiados. Thanks @embo.org
Postdoc position available in my lab in Jena (Germany.

If you're interested in protein biochemistry of amyloid proteins and chaperones, this job may be for you. B2 Level German is required as the candidate will be involved in teaching in German.
"Mellon" 😉
Very much looking forward to host Simon Alberti (Vice speaker of the newly funded FOR5872) in Jena at the @leibnizfli.bsky.social on August 15th at 1 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend his talk.
Great work by the @schliekerlab.bsky.social 👏We're happy that we could contribute a bit.
Exciting news: DFG funds FOR5872 – Chaperone-mediated regulation of amyloids in condensates!
Led by Prof. Janine Kirstein (FLI), researchers from Germany and Israel will explore how chaperones counteract disease-causing protein misfolding.
Good luck to the team!

thank you 😀
I'm very excited to announce the funding of a new DFG research unit FOR 5872 "Chaperone-mediated regulation of the emergence of disease-causing amyloids inside biomolecular condensates" that I lead together with Simon Alberti. More information can be found here: www.leibniz-fli.de/news-events/...
Many thanks to the PhD students of the Max Planck Unit for the Science of Pathogens (MPUSP) for the invitation to their summer retreat in Schwerin. Great science, nice scenery for the morning runs and its fantastic to reconnect with some old friends/colleagues/mentors.
where are the white socks? 🤔😂
Nothing better than getting a visit of a former PhD student (Manuel Iburg) who has finished his first postdoc in Houston and is now heading to Cambridge, UK with a Marie Curie Fellowship to start his second postdoc. It was great having you Manuel for a talk and a reunion celebration.
Green Text on black ground. The letter "e" is missing. R s arch and ducation? Som cuts just don´t mak s ns .
From June 23 to June 29, 2025, Freie Universität Berlin will be cutting out the letter e from its communication.
Why? Because the university itself is facing cuts: around 37 million euros this year alone. Additional cuts are also planned for 2026 and 2027. (1/3)
Reunion with former MSc student Antonia Otte from @unibremen.bsky.social who is now a PhD student at the John Innes Center in Norwich, UK and invited ne to a PhD symposium.
congratulations! This looks amazing.
will join later today as well 🙌
Excited to expand the cooperation with Holger Bierhoff beyond the local running trails of Jena with the support of a Life Connect grant of @uni-jena.de to work on the role of rRNA activity in neurodegeneration.

Very much enjoyed yesterday's Firmenlauf in Jena. Go Team @uni-jena.de and @microverse.bsky.social with @hellmichgroup.bsky.social Would be great to represent @leibnizfli.bsky.social next year
Amazing PI, cool science and Berlin - this is hard to beat!
too bad, but we see each other soon in Gdansk at the JDP aficionado meeting
Thank you @hawlelab.bsky.social and Harm Kampinga for organizing the GRC stress proteins meeting. Very much looking forward to it.
