The Snowy Day is the book I remember most from childhood. I think as a Floridian the images held such a sense of magic for me.
Yes! Books are either elementary and too young for my kids or YA and too mature. Struggling readers don't want baby books but advanced readers aren't always ready for YA topics. Middle school is usually looked at that way in general though.

Same. Challenging yourself on heavy topics when you are being challenged elsewhere doesn't always broaden your mind. For me it can broaden my anxiety instead. A good romance allows me space to explore those issues elsewhere.
