I have this issue where if I don't do something perfectly the first time, I never want to do it again. I'm struggling with the amount of words I write per day, but trying to remind myself that it's hard between full time work and school...

The best sentence I've read today:
"newborn babies and placentas are blood-covered, bite-sized yum-yum snacks in the eyes of a shark." (Humanish by Justin Gregg)
My to my friend: I'd end up working for Val. Why? Because I'm a dumb bitch.
Survey Says:
I wish we were developing AI that helped with things people actually want help with, like changing sheets and doing the dishes, instead of trying to replace creatives.
Took Angel Dust to work today where she got lots of attention and had a very excellent nap on my desk. Totally got so much done today....
I am so excited to learn more about Alastor!!
Rereading something I wrote a few years ago and flailing wildly between "wow, I'm really good" and "wow, I am really terrible and should never write anything else ever again"
I caved and tried Ellipsus and I have no idea why I didn't make the switch earlier?
Now, more than ever, check out a novel from your public library, get yourself some snacks, and READ for pure joy. You deserve it.
I play a lot of video games, and the number of developers and studios, especially ones that can afford real artists, real people, that are proud of utilizing generative AI is wild. Like any of us actually WANT AI generated games and stories?!
I have been obsessing over Alastor lately, which I feel like is probably not the best use of my time, but really who is gonna stop me?
I am reading this book called "Humanish" by Justin Gregg, and it is super interesting.
I don't usually read a lot of nonfiction, but I really have to recommend this one. It talks about how/why we are likely to humanize things, and it's got a lot of good info and perspectives!
Female Chinese Crested surrounded by digital backdrop of flower petals and roses. She is in traditional Chinese Crested cut with a Valentine's bow and bandana on her neck.
Speaking of Angel Dust, here she is!
My headcanon is that Angel Dust wanted to be an architect in life. Idk, I just really like the idea of him wanting to build something instead of let shit rot.
Am I the only person who has completely lost the ability to feel hope?
Playing Minecraft without the Timber datapack is like pulling teeth ;_;
Aside from writing, being at this library conference with all of these other wonderful library professionals is the closest I have felt to a "calling" in my life.
It's come to my attention that some people believe you can't buy a new book until you've read the books you already have. Let me assure you, as both a lawyer and a writer, that this idea is legally and morally WRONG and BAD. Buy more books.
2025 is the year that I am learning to create art. I have a lot of different things I want to learn and I am not good at any of them.
I'm starting with coloring and I've picked up 2 really cute mixed media journals that I am going to turn into art journals where I play and experiment.
I was accepted to the grad school program I applied for! I'm pursuing my MLIS so that I can continue to grow and climb in libraries, and hopefully relocate from the deep red state I am currently in.
I've gotta be honest, I haven't even watched it, but this is delightful.
I forgot I signed up for this but I am back now because I JUST SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR A NEW PUPPY AND I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT!
You know what would **really** disrupt the publishing industry?
Fair contracts and decent pay for authors.
No AI training without the creatorβs consent.
Artists and translators on the cover.
No NDAs for ghostwriters.

I have this weird thing with first drafts. I worry a lot about whether I am doing them "right" but what even is "right" with a first draft? I think I get hung up on that a lot and it keeps me from just sitting down and writing? Not sure how to overcome that??
Au Ra Raen female with pink pigtails, green eyes, and fair skin.
Sometimes I like creating characters just to create them. I had a gnome in WoW named Glimmer with pink pigtails and green eyes. I had recreated her as a Lalafell, but I never play her, so instead I decided to recreate her as an Au Ra and I am much happier with this version of Glimmer!
I finally have a space cleared where I can diamond paint again and that's really excited for me because honestly is there a better craft than something that sparkles at the end?
