Why is this a question? Nobody wants this, literally nobody.
They are trying to expand the prerogative state. If this is allowed to stand, an ICE officer can sign a warrant and walk into any house, whether the person is there or not. There will be no check provided by a judge. It will eviscerate the Fourth Amendment for ICE.

I’m not trying to be judgmental, but I feel that the people who now say they regret voting for Trump should have had a decent idea what he was all about before Nov 2024.

They can’t turn America into a white nation. There have been generations of non-white immigrants who have come to the United States and made U.S. a diverse and wonderful place. They are playing a losing game. They may win this battle but they have already lost the war.
In light of today’s SCOTUS decision, every person of color with an accent in the US should probably carry proof of citizenship with them at all times - while working and everywhere they go. If you don’t want to be in a detention facility awaiting a friend or relative to bring it.

That Pritzker press conference was... surreal, and I think marks a significant moment of escalation in the constitutional omni-crisis. This was the governor of a state saying plainly the Union itself is being torn apart and his state is being militarily invaded by an authoritarian regime.
We are in very dark times. It’ll take an entire political/social movement, an overwhelming rebuke at the polls, and a new vision of governance to unstick this country from whatever this collapse is.

Just in case it’s not already clear that ICE is a white supremacist thug army, Homeland Security is recruiting with a “defend your culture” slogan.
I graduated from high school in 1999 and if someone asked me to remember basically any individual event, I would be hard-pressed to do so, especially at the level of detail Dion seems to recall it.
Even if he has good intentions, he may have accidentally created a false memory. I notice in the episode, for instance, that Rabia raises whether he said anything about Ramadan and he says "oh yeah, he did." Is that a real memory, or one that was suggested by Rabia?
I am trying to think about what Adnan's detractors will say, and I have a couple of questions. First, why did Dion reach out after 25 years? It seems a little strange. And did Dion remember the details about the day independently, or did Rabia read him the note first?
