Thanks so much to the Renton children for this Lineup. You done Kate so proud. Think my favourite BTC to date with my highest score. Looking forward to seeing how this does on the table. #BlindDrams

Tonight’s #BlindDrams hosted by us three Rentons (the Triumvirate, being three rulers) showcased whiskies from distilleries which are no more than 30 years old (Tridecadal, being a *ChatGPT word* for a 30 year period) - in honour of Lochranza Distillery’s (and Jamie’s) 30th birthday this year!
Dram 5 N - #BlindDrams
Dram 5: Like someone just said this is Jazz, a lot going on, lotf of great things to say about this. Not everybody's cup of tea. A 4 from me only because Dram 4 was more on balance for me. But this is still a great shouty dram, got a very cigar like note to it. Score 4. #Blind Drams
Dram 5: Nose Sherry, very sulphur but on the good end for me. reminds me of either Kilkerran or Kilchoiman #BlindDrams
Dram 4: Finish: Who cares this is up my street. Score 5. Could this be beat? #BlindDrams
Dram 4: Palate: Shell fish, fish shop. I am on the edge of a beach and loving this #BlindDrams
Dram 4: Appearance: Red Copper although less burnt copper than number 3. Nose: Saffron heavy Paella after poruing some wine in. salt and vinegar. slight kola cube. #BlindDrams
Dram 3: 3 for me, lovely dram but the pine notes are something that is something I want some times but not all of the time. #BlindDrams
Dram 3: Palate: smoky jam. Marshmallow and cholcolate. very hint of lemon. dried fruits. Prorridge loaf. Pine #BlindDrams
Dram 3: Appearance Burnt Red Copper. Nose: Fire cracker toffee. Treacle. Slight farm yard note.#BlindDrams
so their 16's tend to be a different mix of casks not necessarily finishes. A few have involved rum
Dram 2: Reminds me of a Rum influenced Kilkerran. finish lasts. Sweet but a natural sweetness.
Score: 4 this is more my level was almost a 3 but was I had to score it higher than Dram 1. #BlindDrams
dram 2 Palate: Mor of that sugar classic donut. green apple skin. pineapple acid like is what is left on a pizza (not that I like pineapple on pizza but I do not mind what it leaves behind). citrus. very slight hit of liquorice #BlindDrams
Dram 2. Appearance: golden straw. Nose: sugar coated frssh donuts. vegetal not hiding in the background. buttercup and floral. Slight note of sourdough but faint #BlindDrams
Dram 1. Finish sweet and sticy with a slight pepper note. Medium length.
Score: 3. Strong start. not to my usual palate but very little to complain about here.
#BlindDrams
Palate: White pepper, slight clove. Gummy. Mirin. can't get past sticky rice. touch of orange peel with a slight bitterness #BlindDrams
Blind Dram 1 copper colour. Oily yet not too thick. Nose: Fruity and Coastal. Stone fruit and honey. Reminds me of the colourful chewiing gum balls you used to get in a strip. Melted butter and slight green grass #BlindDrams
Prepping for #BTC57 organised by @cjfrenton.bsky.social cannot wait. #BlindDrams
