I completely agree. I know I am quiet, but I rarely see any of the people I used to interact with. Everyone seems to be spread across different platforms.

Meant to be!
Beautiful landscape scenery of the Fairy Glen on Isle of Skye, Scotland.
Today my wandering thoughts took me back to the Fairy Glen, Isle of Skye.
So proud of this Georgia school!
Was a dog with a bone today. And by that I mean I was dogged in my research to find out who the widow of my 2nd cousin married in 1950. I had the index but no name for the groom. Tks to salemdeeds.com, I was surprised to find their marriage cert! Cue the floodgates. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
I love court room dramas too! I will have to come back to Glasgow so we can discuss.π
I am so sorry that you are having to deal with someone so nasty and spiteful. I feel you are the FS poster child of kindness bc you are always offering to do research for others at your local center.
Weird night of newspaper research. Came across an article about the stolen body of Elizabeth Taylorβs former husband Mike Todd, and an article with someone named Delta Dawn Smith. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
It was beautiful. Highly recommend Glasgow Cathedral and Govan Stones. thegovanstones.org.uk/the-stones/
Center aisle view towards the altar of St Andrewβs RC Church in Glasgow, Scotland.
Hard to believe it has been a month since I visited the church where my gg-grandparents were married in 1844. St Andrewβs RC Church, Glasgow, Scotland. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
Congratulations!
Kids are kids regardless of the century.
This may be a stupid question, but if you buy the church, do you become the caretaker of the cemetery? How does that work? Looks beautiful.
Not only is this a great story, but my husband and I visited that church. Alison told us how to get the subway so we could see the Govan Stones.πI have to ask, did you have any Corrigan ancestors in Glasgow in the 1840s? John Corrigan was a witness to my gg-gpβs marriage.
Just got back from an incredible trip to Scotland! A big thrill was finally meeting @acspring.bsky.social. Alison helped me with Glasgow research during early Covid days. Visiting the church where my gg-grandparents were married with her was really special. #Genealogy #FamilyResearchπ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ
Engagement isnβt what it used to be.
So frustrating after waiting for so long. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
What the hell!!
I found probate records on a man murdered in Kentucky, & had a bank acct in New Orleans. Family in E Galway had to prove he was their brother. A priestβs letter detailed marriage of his parents in 1804, bapt dates of siblings, who they married, where they lived. A wealth of information!
Today was a great research day! βNephews were Pallbearersβ led me to a sister I didnβt know my gg-gf had. Two names I knew, but the other two names opened up a whole new branch. #Genealogy #FamilyResearch
What a great way to grow up!
My hope is for people to get answers and find some peace.π
Another excellent episode.
No Kings protest sign that reads I need to be able to tell my children I did not stay silent.
My daughterβs sign. So proud of her. #NoKings
Ughhhhh! The Family Search tree!! π€¬π‘π©π€―π«£π¬ππ΅βπ«
Picture of a metal sculpture of a man sitting and hugging his knees to his chest in the coast of Baja.
Contemplating life.
Picture of a girl in Victorian dress from the 1860βs.
Picture of actor Bella Ramsey from a British Vogue article.
My g-gfβs step sister was born in England in 1853 and looks like Bella Ramsey.
Persistence paid off.
Picture of a sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, where the colors of the sky on the horizon are reflected in the water.
Taking a breath.
