Good news. I wrote a pilot outline and it DOESN'T suck! ...I think.

Ate smothered catfish and beignets and now I'm watching Young Frankenstein. Genuinely 10/10 day.
Incredible!
Please tell your students that a TRUE hero always pays attention, is respectful, and tries their best ๐
Anyone can be a hero if they have the guts!
My kid and I are watching Daima.
Her: Why is Vegeta so unliked?
Me: what?
Her: It's clear the show doesn't like him.
I bust out laughing: You immediately noticed what it took fans years to comment on.
Every single DB story must end the same way. No need to change it!
And then, OBVIOUSLY, you find out that there's some ancient barrier sealing away Ki during a hopeless battle. Bulma and Piccolo smash it. Goku powers up to an insane degree and you have a nutso finale.
I think a fun DragonBall story would be to throw Goku, Bulma and Piccolo into a world where Ki doesn't work. So Goku is stuck at base level, while Piccolo finally learns Namek magic and Bulma is the team artificer. A fun RPG style story that flips the power scale and forces our characters to grow!
In that case, DQ11 wins handily for me. So, no real change.
Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy fans, I'd love to see your title by title ranking.

Adorable little pixel art of the heroes of each game playing instruments on the back!
Pixel Remaster soundtracks came in!!!
Ironically, whoever predicts a winner who isn't themself and is right is the actual winner.
"Oh my god... There's like a hundred undercuts in that weld!"
Close tie with Dr. Mario & Tetris for SNES. My wife and I could play that together endlessly!
blew my mind on NES Remix when all the miiverse posts were about how much people hated it. They're wrong. It's a treasure and I have OG Animal Crossing to thank!
NES! Has the better soundtrack.
Same. I think the first eked out purely because of the stakes and scale. The bros just feel their most broey here. It's like a playable Saturday Morning Cartoon!
Mario gets its own list, tbh. That's the king of kings.
I'm not final destination only, tourney-type melee player. I just put 1000s of hours into that game (and the subsequent games) with my friends and there's no multiplayer experience that compares. Fun, funny, fast-paced and dramatic. No two games are ever alike!
But like... Superstar Saga is supreme in my heart. It gets everything so right as a story and it's the treatment of the bros as characters that works for me.
Bowser's Inside Story could easily be swapped for it though, purely because playable Bowser automatically takes your game up 2 or 3 points.
For 2D Mario, it's SMB3 for me. For 3D Mario it's extremely difficult to choose because they're all so different. I have a soft-spot for Sunshine, but the answer is Bowser's Fury, no contest.
Also you could hot swap ALttP with Link's Awakening, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess or even BotW on any given day. Zelda is my one true love above all else. That said, ALttP just gets me through it. But Wind Waker is far and away the best narrative and it's not remotely close.
No room for the Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Pikmin, Ys, Etrian Odyssey, SMT, SaGa (Frontier), Mega Man, Resident Evil, Pokemon, Kirby, Metroid and Starfox of it all?! Criminal.
Anyone who follows me even a little knows the real breadth of my love for games!
Did the #my9games trend and it makes me sick to my stomach. How can you choose just ONE of a series let alone 9 of anything? I'm gonna rattle more below. You can do this at my9games.com
Another damn fine list!
It's like someone pulls a cord on my back and tears shoot out of my eyes. It's the highest high of the series. FFVI is a close second for me, but this is just unrestrained in its message. A complete celebration of living and love.
This moment right here. Without fail. EVERY time. Fuck the crown, fuck magic, fuck the plot, there's only one thing that matters. They said the theme of FFIX was "living," and just... goddamn! It hits. It's not manipulative or contrived, it's just straight up truth.
Can't watch the end to FFIX without fucking losing it. It's like a magic trick. It's hard to say that the story is really leading to this one point, and it doesn't feel like a typical narrative either. There's just this radical sincerity to it.
And I would've chosen V because of the impact on my life, probably! That cemented my love for the series, and I even got to voice Pankraz. But even besides XI, IV and VIII are sitting there with very strong arguments too.
