This week, easily the best dish I enjoyed was from Il Ponte in Woburn, one of my Top 5 Favorite Restaurants. Homemade pasta, topped by a creamy black truffle sauce and topped by freshly shaved white truffles. Decadently delicious with the rich umami of the truffles. A work of beauty & great taste.

Happy National Whipped Cream Day! This holiday may have been inspired by Aaron Lapin, whose birthday is today. He's the creator of Reddi-Wip, the first canned whipped cream. And who hasn't used a can to spray whipped cream directly into your mouth?
Rant: Just Give Me The Menu! Too many restaurant websites make you enter their online ordering system to view their menu. I don't want to order anything. I just want to look at the menu, like I always used to do.
Out of Maine comes a delicious, dry and intriguing Cider, a blend of sustainably grown fruit, local apples and blueberries. The R.A.S. Bluish Cider worked well paired with pork, and earns a hearty recommendation.
