So grateful for all my trans followers, readers, listeners, but especially for those who I think of as part of my family. @elsandifer.bsky.social @ballardiangorse.bsky.social @rowantree.bsky.social

Hearing that Sunakβs thing is getting pissed on. Not saying itβs true. Itβs just what Iβm hearing. Sunak likes getting pissed on. Thatβs what Iβm hearing.

A carrot that splits in two near the base and resembles two crossed legs.
Then there was that time I found a carrot that had to go to the bathroom.
I may or may not be avoiding actual real work at the moment. . .
"Endurance must replace hope; that must be enough because it is now all that is available until hope again returns, not as a demand on the oppressed but as a socially realisable possibility."

My latest on A*CR about the crisis facing the trans* struggle is a retrospective of my previous work on trans* liberation.
I needed a break after the latest bit of anti trans news (more hourly than daily now) and had a hot doll summer moment on the local green between editing.
There are just no words anymore. Nothing language provides to me captures the pain right now.
Great discussion about the Cass Review, transphobia, TERFs, etc, between my friends @exaggeratedelegy.bsky.social & @rowantree.bsky.social youtu.be/B29LP6OWtow?...
Very possibly the article I am most proud to be involved with to date.
Please join @rowantree.bsky.social and myself as we discuss the odious Cass Report, the wave of transphobia currently sweeping the UK and other subjects:
youtu.be/B29LP6OWtow?...
It also supports file uploads (pdf, .docx, .csv, .txt, .jpg, .png).
What would be the funniest thing to upload with a report?
This is impossible to implement so either it's ignored or trans folk like me will lose access to NHS provision that requires being in a ward. They just want us to die.
There were no such implications. I am absolutely in solidarity with you and all trans* people.
As a trans gal, my life is a hellscape. The SWP barely even registers in that noise. In the comprehensive refusal to create conditions that permit trans life, I have serious enemies. The one million generic placard guys should occupy my focus over a generalised condition of trans social murder?
I get your anger with the reactionary left. I have no party with sects who fail their duty of solidarity at every turn. What is there to add to this? Denunicatory lists of the sins of groups with whom I have few common beliefs, whose "revolutionary" traditions are wholly dead?
I'm not in the same tradition as the SWP either. I find them distasteful and would act to dissuade anyone I know from joining their ranks, which, honestly, many young people understand organically. But is it a good use of my limited time and emotional bandwidth to have sect fights with the SWP?
I mean I just don't consider WPB as having any resemblance to me and mine. I will happily denounce Galloway and all red-brown scum; comrades are currently writing a piece calling out the repulsive anti-trans class traitors at the Morning Star for interviewing a conversion therapy hate org.
they did NOTHING while nazis were marching in the streets screaming "Jews will not replace us" but now that students are peacefully protesting apartheid they're pretending to give a shit about us... this is so deeply and transparently disingenuous

This fight is existential. That is minimally what every cis person must grasp. But there is more, in ellipses too easily mistaken for silence.
Watching new generations of trans* people be told hopes I never imagined for myself should now be denied them is traumatic. It opens pains on which prose finds no anchoring. Hoping for others is one way to live with deep loss. Losing those hopes confronts me with no longer having a way.
That is demanded by the sadist enthusiasm for denying trans* life expressed by every "side" of our media and across all the revered institutions of the state. By vaccant politicians calculating our lives as games of electoral arithmetic. But I have also never felt words fail so often.
Since Cass's assault on trans* humanity in Britian, I have written plenty on this subject. Writing alone and with others. I will write more. I want more to be said, and not just by me. And not even just by trans* folk. I want to see cis people grapple with this, too.
Our lives are dominated by difficult financial choices but capitalism has produced immense wealth for a tiny minority of people. Simon Hannah examines the role that scarcity plays in capitalism.
