I think Scranton in the 90s was still great, but going back hurts. The book I am (trying) to write is inspired by it

Prosecutors began investigating Renee Good's killing, then Washington told them to stop.
Federal prosecutors had a warrant to collect evidence from Good's vehicle, but Trump leaders said to drop it. About a dozen prosecutors have since departed.

... I try to put my lists out FIRST so I am not influenced by others. There are BUZZY debuts I miss/aren't interested in.
I purposefully spend a lot of my time curating Most Anticipated/Best Of. Pitches don't really influence me, but they do get the book in front of my eyes. M.A. involves a lot of reading 20-50 pages, and finding titles that I am excited about, rather than what's buzzy...
Great read from @lydiakiesling.bsky.social. Debutiful lives and dies with book listicles and interviews. Never dipped into reviews for a myriad of reasons. I think a lot of what I do is interesting, but I wish it had more depth.
