If the problem is big enough to justify that solution I would just turn off legend rule in limited like the max number of copies of card in deck is turned off.

Ya plus the more counterintuitive and edge-case-creating the rules are, the more distance there is between your intent and your ability to even spot that you’re messing it up. I may have been 15 years old and unaware of how many mistakes we were making.

Didn’t intentionally ignore any rules but also was not at 100% adherence.

Could be both, but I don’t know how you can defend the format. So many drafts you can tell you’re in the correct lane but the cards don’t come. And power of the best cards vs replacement cards is insanely high. And like if you’re elves and open red bomb you can’t even get creative.

I think it’s just that the set itself is so bad? The fact that you can’t pivot and get a deck good enough to win 7 games is not a feature of most sets. 0-3 interesting picks most drafts and total lottery for final deck strength.

Formats get “solved” when cards like Cori Steel + Vivi aren’t reasonably beatable but what does this change accomplish? That players with less time to practice submit decks that crash into the brick wall? That enfranchised players know the format is 💩 but can’t prove it? I don’t get it.

Nice run! Felt strong when I tried this commander. My list was a little more geared towards Hullbreaker Horror / Tidespout but lots of the same themes otherwise.

Lorwyn Eclipsed sealed deck is a great way to get in touch with all the things that are not fun about sealed deck.

Rhystic and Remora are so miserable for length of game, play pattern, and color balance in cEDH. They’re getting Brainstorm in Legacy “pillar” treatment. “People strongly associate the DMV with long lines, so we aren’t taking this clear step to shorten lines” type justification.

I think it’s brought everyone up more than it’s held any demographic back. I understand that’s a possible outcome for a “cheat sheet” formatted tool, I just don’t think it plays out that way much.

Through years of teaming and traveling together I’m not sure I ever saw Kai refuse a favor or fail to get along with someone. It probably sounds like I’m doing some mythologizing or something but he was that kind, that generous, that fun, that universally loved. I’ll miss him so much.

He sat and did tiebreaker math with me when I was locked for 9th place at MC London and then smiled wide at me and offered a congratulatory handshake when we learned I snuck into top 8 because of a DQ.

Magic is a really fun hobby when you’re with people who make it fun. Despite having earned the right to be an aloof “genius” if he had wanted to be, Kai was the warmest, most welcoming person. He loved to laugh, and I loved to make him laugh.
