Spoiler alert - they are the same game
Companies like clickup buy venerable game sites and fill them with garbage to steal their SEO juice while it lasts. They're not just killing game journalism, they're filling the corpse with parasites.

Sad to read that G.G. Santiago, creator of βRainbow Brite,β has died. Her obit is quite moving. β₯οΈ www.billingsfuneralhome.com/obituaries/g...

Everyone is here!!
Immediately thought how much of an injection KPOP is going to be for Criterion. There's a reason why Frozen was a golden goose and the bird just landed on their lap
Expected given Criterion is the home of del Toro's earliest and most recent films, but glad to know I won't have to maintain a Netflix sub to watch Frankenstein again
Big honorable mention goes out to Spirit Tracks because the central dungeon where you work together with Zelda possessing big armors is That Good, bringing the Ocarina mechanic back with the pan flutes, and having a dedicated button to make the train go "choo choo"
Thinking about my top 3 zeldas....
Any given day the top two switches between Link's Awakening & Majora's Mask (although learning about LA's glitch dungeon during GDQ bumped that game up several points this year)
as for the 3rd spot, have to hand it to Wind Waker. Replayed that one loads of times
Painting of Link with a million little gadgets and weapons from across the games. I worked harder on this in a 5 week period than any other thing Iβve ever painted. I think I almost died working on this lol
Happy Zelda 40th anniversary!
lmao
Due to popular demand, here is a demonstration video of how to make 3D printed PCBs using just vector drawing software, a 3D printed (PETG filament for mine) and self-adhesive copper tape. Any questions, let me know!
a shot of ohtori tower surrounded by incomplete half crescent balconies jutting out from various buildings, the framing and steelwork nakedly visible
utena ascending a staircase precariously and impossibly hanging over a mix of abstract shapes that constitute buildings
ohtori academy glows as anthy turns out the lights
juri and the fencing club stand in front of a deconstructed wall cut through with white and red paint, its windows stained glass with abstract shapes - some filled, some not.
It is simply never a bad time to think about the architectural design in Adolescence of Utena

This month in Dialogue, @austinwalker.bsky.social goes long on craft, industry, and doing the work.
Stephanie Zed's crochet market bag design in purple 24/7 cotton yarn
Pretty Peaceful's maui market bag design in two 24/7 cotton yarn colors: circular bottom & first few rows in purple, rest of the bag and handles in lilac
6 evenings (including a super bowl) later, my two collapsible market bag crochet projects are complete!
Really liked the 1st bag's pattern flow & the relative quickness that you could jam it out.
2nd bag felt twice as long to make, but it's def going to tackle the heavier duty trips of the two.

Got bit by a Dwarf Fortress-esque "fey mood" about 5 days ago but didnt have the specific yarn to get that project started til today.
I now emotionally understand why those dwarves get murderous if they can't get started on theirs lol
Really funny how they titled their effort with the SBEmail that innoculized me on the its/it's question. Got a golf clap out of me.

Still thinking about how Urobuchi in an interview effectively said he turned in his homework back in 2016 and has been doing his own thing since.
2016 was an eternity ago
The first of two frames from Destroy All Monsters (1968). A man wearing a yellow rubber glove is holding a phone up to his ear. He is laughing while talking. There are some 1960's esque "futuristic" tech in the background. The caption reads, "I'm joking."
The second of two frames from Destroy All Monsters (1968). The same as before but now the man is no longer smiling or laughing, he has a very concerned look on his face. The caption reads, "Well, half joking. We're a bit concerned."
Destroy All Monsters (1968)
At this point, we're seeing projects that have once/twice/thrice refined the vibes that Rebellion laid down & inspired AND reaching a time scale that'd make Silksong blush.
I'm holding onto hope, but damn, this is getting to be actually funny
hyper crunchy, looks like its saved 4x over, meme picture of two plushies of Dokes and Homerun with the text hyperimposed on them reading: REPOST TO DELAY WALPURGISNACHT
How about Stray Children, the spiritual sequel to Moon: Remix RPG Adventureβyou know, the cult classic that Toby Fox has hyped up as one of the main inspirations for Undertaleβthat came out this year and is only sitting at 152 total reviews on Steam with only a 79% positive rating due in large part to its high level of friction. Much like Silksong, that friction is entirely intentional, a key part of the experience that the devs wanted to create, but without the massive hype train it failed to find much of an audience. Silksong wasn't even the only ultra-hard Metroidvania this year! Zexion is out there sitting at only 250 reviews on Steam! And these are just a few examples of notable games off the top of my head. The list goes on and on.
This is an extremely good writeup that I agree with basically all of ponett.dog/blog/video-g...
