The dramatic effects of high oil prices are less proof of how important or irreplaceable oil is than they are proof of a completely outdated energy system with quaint single points of failure.

At some point before 2030 'fossil fuel crisis' isn't going to be a binary on/off thing but just on 100% of the time. We need to get good at fair, just and equitable protection from fossil fuel harms right now.
