Changed perspective of the narrator. I had the liberty of freedom of names and time. But the primary events mimic the story that I heard as a child. And I researched the graveyard in question and based the story on my visits there.
I write children's books and horror. I think horror is fun for me because of the challenge of getting the reader to feel something unusual.
Ghost stories, I'm a story teller and ghost stories are a natural extension of that. This story derived from a local legend, so it was fun to put a twist on it
