Brazil's democracy is both fragile and strong at once. Hard to wrap your head around, and hard to celebrate when the fragile side may win again.

Many people around the world are celebrating Bolsonaro's conviction. But Brazil has seen 4 of its 8 post-dictatorship presidents face impeachment or criminal charges, and all found their way back to politics.

FrP supporters among university students may indeed be quiet about their stance. But given the global rise in populism, one gets the impression that supporters are becoming less hesitant. Still, Norwegian society remains very concerned with keeping up appearances.

And FRP seems well aware of this. No wonder Simen Velle tries to appeal to students by arguing that Norwegian students should be prioritized for student housing over international students
