An amazing evening! Jonathon Porritt brought his book tour to Salisbury, delivering a rousing talk to a capacity audience aided by inspirational young activist Emma de Saram. 'Love, Anger & Betrayal' is co-authored by 26 Just Stop Oil activists, bringing much-needed younger voices to the debate.
Only a few tickets remaining for our talk on Wednesday β so please book now if you plan to come as unlikely to be tickets available on the door.

The second and third richest men control Google.
The fourth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The fifth richest man owns The Washington Post.
And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.
See the problem here?
The small, brave band of MPs who represent the trampled, not the tramplers, has a very welcome new member.
We should all ask ourselves why, in a supposed democracy, such representatives are so rare.

Are you watching Dirty Business? I can't believe how much water companies have gotten away with. They're putting profit before public health - itβs a scandal and the Government MUST take action! Sick of sewage? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/en...
Heat extremes caused an estimated 546,000 deaths every year between 2012 - 2021, a 63% rise on rates in the 1990s, reports @thelancet.com. βThat's the equivalent of a fully loaded jumbo jet full of people going down once every 7hrs throughout the year,β Prof Ollie Jay, Heat & Health Research Centre

Defend Our Juries Co-Founder Tim Crosland explains what the High Court ruling showing over the Palestine Action ban means in real terms.
He adds a renewed call for a meeting with Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to discuss the harm that has been done since this ban was introduced.
PALESTINE ACTION BAN RULED UNLAWFUL
Huge win for democracy and embarrassment for the government.
The gov is to appeal. Despite the High Court revealing their authoritarianism, they seem to want the Supreme Court to do so as well.
The court ruled that the ban remains in place until a future hearing.

From the Government's National Security Assessment on biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse: βthe UK does not have enough land to feed its population and rear livestock: a wholesale change in consumer diets would be requiredβ. Keeping quiet about that... www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

A group of people stand holding a banner saying 'Gatwick's BIG enough'; Carla Denyer MP is in the middle
Good luck to @gaccenvironment.bsky.social & @cagnegatwick.bsky.social on their legal challenge to Gatwick expansion
There are v clear reasons to reject expansion: climate, noise pollution, transport gridlock
But govt decided to side with Gatwick bosses in pursuit of economic growth at any cost...

This πWIN after intense pressure from the movement. #BoycottBloodyInsurance continues to call for orgs to boycott Allianz as they continue to insure F-35 suppliers and other deadly companies.

So yes, do both if you want to, while being aware that one activity is useful and the other is futile. But be aware that for most population obsessives, it's either/or, and is used to avoid moral responsibility and effective action.
