definitely a southern accent
definitely a southern accent
see we can make texas blue
Thereβs a group behind ditto!
I suddenly wouldnβt have it any other way
I laughed out of excitement once I realized that was actually what they were going for lol
yeeeehaw π€
I think this line squarely puts it in southern accent territory haha
they gave kyogre a southern accent in pokemon pokopia
well then I know what Iβm having for dessert tonight
project β17
But to super super clarify I donβt want to βwinβ this conversation or anything, what youβre suggesting is happening is what Iβd prefer at the end of the day lolol
Pokemon operates independently and have been okay talking about their side games even after pulling back interviews of mainline games, and I mentioned big games like Zelda have been the exception.
I definitely prefer the idea of them opening up though but it still does seem pulled back and tactful.
Nintendo dream is more or less an extension of nintendo IIRC, I think before and after the pandemic (or even just before the pandemic with pokemon) is night and day
pokopia stream (I play slow and care about the lore)

Well those are the big things, we arenβt getting the lesser known teams going through a bunch of outlets. Pretty sure they have pre approved outlets as well.
This pull back has been going on for years, weβre just seeing the full shift happen now because the Nintendo today app exists (which obviously was in the cards before we knew it existed too)
Just very walled off
Oh I just typed the same thing so yes I agree haha
Oh I agree! People were getting scary and personal with it, and Iβm more inclined to believe thatβs why they donβt advertise the studios ahead of time as well cuz people go after them.
even the existence of the nintendo today app is about controlling the message
Definitely, Iβm too busy and broke to complain. Just kinda mulling over the bigger picture and how unfortunate it is that theyβve built bigger walls around themselves.
Nothing happens in a bubble
I think paper mario TOK was the last regular interview spree, which got a ton of backlash, outside of the biggest games like Zelda. Now they just limit it to their own internal interviews, which are great, but super sucky for gaming history. The new sanitized and limited directs fit that mold too.
seems their approach is a pristine smoothed over image for better or obviously worse
Directs came after a schedule was set, direct never set the schedules itself
Thereβs not too much different from dates or vague release windows announced through nintendo today vs a direct with the same announcements
Thereβs obviously truth to that, but Nintendo definitely had a noticeable pull back on interviews and announcement style once the pandemic hit since everything had backlash. It became bare minimum communication even after things stabilized.
So to answer your question, the world in which they are responding to the player base is the world where itβs about the player base lol
every news drop and interview would cause unnecessary and pointless backlash online, especially when everyone was online during the pandemic
since then we barely get interviews and we get just enough news to get by. Weβve also been told for years now that they manage expectations.
Absolutely, and we lost those tier two directs since those games just get trailers dropped on Nintendo today
