I've always tried to pin down what I think the Superhero Comics fundamental premise is, and usually described it as a conflict between differing powers or ideas or metaphors, made concrete. Cool I guess.

I think I might propose house-ruling Reincarnate that you (the caster) can modify the species roll for the outcome by 10% for every level lost after the first two, and that the reincarnate-ee gets to choose whether to return or not after the outcome is determined.

If you want to be sure to reincarnate human, and are willing to take the 2 level hit more than once with reincarnation, you get 39% odds of being human with E 1.89 reincarations, 48% at 2.3, 68% at 3.4, 73% @ 3.7, 77% @ 3.95, and 80% at 4.2.
