I don't consider this a failure. In fact I've had a lot of great meetings and other opportunities. But no overnight success.

Getting repped isn't an end all be all goal. It's just another step in the process.

Exactly. Can't say I've ever heard that kind of note from an exec/producer, but sure hear it a lot from the people who claim to know everything about this industry...

I truly feel the fear of using "unfilmables" holds so many writers back from finding their voice.

You have to use YOUR language to tell YOUR story. Filmmaking is about translating what's on the page to the screen.

Hell, I'd argue with a good director, nothing is unfilmable.
