The obsolete cables...made my day
Interesting, will have a look. When we or at least me started science I never thought of all the other skills we have to learn as well. (Like planing budgets π)
With nearly all of Harvard Chan Schoolβs direct federal grants terminated, we are relying on philanthropy to power our research and support our educational programs. Every gift, regardless of size, advances our vision of health, dignity, and justice for every human. Support our work: hsph.me/whygive
Among the rare minerals that will be restricted due to the USA/China trade war is lutetium and yttrium. These are used for radiotherapy. I really hope this will not impact cancer patients in the US.
And the saga continues: German magazine @spiegel.de found private email addresses, phone numbers (some linked to #Signal accounts) and even leaked passwords for #Hegseth, #Waltz and #Gabbard publicly available on the internetβ¦
Easy prey for phishing attemptsβ¦

Great concept. Thanks for highlighting it here.
π Our new preprint is on bioRxiv:
A genetic signature predicts aggressive paraganglioma sensitivity to dual PI3K-CDK4/6 inhibition therapy

π Shoutout to @karna-b.bsky.social for winning the 3MT award for explaining this research to the public

Congratulations to Alice, Cynthia and the rest of the team! Your hard work really paid of.
Also true for my dad. Still waiting for the correct diagnosis..most likely one form of FTD.
Just finished a wonderful trip to my old stomping grounds at the University of Iowa to lecture on CUPs.
Did you know, they are looking for a NET oncologistβ¦? If you or someone you know is interested, please check them out. Thatβs the institution that started my NET career π
Out of curiosity, which journal? And yes at least some seem to be better than others.
Now I am a bit dissapointed..
This is incredibly beautiful.
Guess it depends of the quality of the course. I am thankful for the one I had, before I actually had to lead a team and learned a lot. My husband (not academia) had one as well, we are still talking about issues that we learned and how to address them.
Amazing work! Explaining how tumor cells evade immunactivation and how to break it.
Not in London, but message me if you like. We work with MENX rats, developing multiple endocrine neoplasia
Guess this comes with age.. first I managed the setting aside of books I didn't like and now I immidiately trash papers after a horrible Figure 1. Would have forced myself to read the whole thing a few years ago.
Learning from the other side now how valuable patient advocacy organizations are..keep going! It's important to translate scientific knowledge into help for the patients and families
Inflation must have hitten you harder than I assumed.
I find naked moles extremely interesting for their ability to resist cancer. Yet, we are working with a (norvegicus) rat model and this comes sometimes with several drawbacks as antibodies might not be available, bioinformatic pipelines not set up... Every model has its own dis/advantages.
Great work, Heiko. Congratulations to the whole team!
You could use the opportunity at the adrenal cancer symposium to so spread the news that the sky is indeed bluer here.
Congratulations Martin!
Congratulation π
Big wins for the IDC @Helmholtz-Munich! π₯³ Tuna Samanci claimed the 1thπand our brilliant PhD student Bhargavi Karna 2nd for their outstanding talk performances at the HRD Retreat! Seems @karna-b.bsky.social is now officially in her award-collecting era. Go girl! #ProudMoment
Very helpful, thanks for sharing.
Just scrolled through the figures. Will get to the must read pile later that day. I have a feeling this could solve some CRISPRa related problems that I faced in the past. Congratulations, great work!
This is really usefull for us bsky newbies. Thx for sharing
Is there data supporting SSTR expression as well in these NE switchers? Would allow targeted radiotherapy.
I was just about learning how starter packs work, when I found thisβ¬οΈ. I have a feeling you might like it. Guess in a few days there will be more of our colleagues here to start also an endocrinology starter pack. #CatStarter go.bsky.app/J8yqxnN
