Honestly any camera will work. I am on an Canon R3 and R6 mk II, but any body you have will work with the right technique. Lens wise I am all over the place, usually a 300mm f2.8, and a fast prime (135mm f2 or 85mm f1.4) but it depends on what I am doing. 70-200mm covers most of it.
I work for the track so that is how I get in shooting the big races. But generally yes, you need a "reason" to be there for bigger events. That can be an agency, team, or media outlet. Only exception is stage rally, they do allow freelance which is very weird for pro racing.
Morning, how's the fox?
Shot Mike Nagel stage rally this weekend and it was a blast. Ended up having to shoot half in the dark and I think the results came out amazing despite the challenges.
Woohoo! Yay!
Thank you so much @bigzfabric.bsky.social ! ๐ฅฐ
And a big thank you to @stuperfox.bsky.social for the beautiful photos that made me look my best.
A final set from the endurance race I shot. Getting ready for some stage rally in a few weeks.
Something from the endurance race from this weekend.
American rally association has a national series and regionals. Check them out, they are a blast.
Shelton, Washington
And stage rally from Tour de Forest last Saturday.
We will fix this next year then. I will try to remember to ping you directly.
Next year, make sure to go even if you just volunteer (the secret is furries run it all).
I am not the most alive lately on here because I have been busy shooting. These are from a 24hr Minimoto endurance race 2 weeks ago, tonight I am working on a rally race from this last weekend and this coming weekend is a 12hr endurance race.
More from NASCAR. Overall it was fun and I think I got some good images out of it.
I tried my best to shoot the shots I needed, then just make art. I got a lot more to share.
Now for some proper NASCAR.
A bit of the Arca series from Friday before Nascar.
A bit more from Indycar before Nascar this weekend.
Some more from Indycar weekend.
A few of my favorite shots of Indycar this last weekend.
Sneak peek of what I am working on at Indycar.
1/3rd through my day and 4.5 miles walked. I am going to be hurting tonight.
Oh the stress of prepping for Indycar this weekend. So much I need to do.
