These time changes are so dumb. I woke up at 3:30 today, read for a while. Was like I just go for my run early.
No I fell back asleep at 4:30 or something for like an hour and now I feel like death.

The @sfcta.bsky.social's current proposal for 7th and Irving is milquetoast. The city has let itself be bullied by an extremely loud but small constituent of car drivers who believe street safety is a "war on cars." This is what happens when upgrades are delayed and parking is held over lives.
Wait, isnβt this just Bluesky?
I came to comment about negative AC Transit experiences Iβve had too. I donβt remember having that type of aggression from bus drivers in SF, fwiw.
Yeah. I saw that response and I was like, then whatβs the problem?
My other favorites are βI canβt see the bottom right hand side of my car so I have to go slow and make really wide turns.β
Which is just gold because thatβs the entire point!
Quote from Nextdoor: βI have trouble seeing low partiality painted curbs for bike lanes, ruined a tire driving over them accidentally, had to buy two.....β
I saw this on Nextdoor and I was sure it was satire, but then I remembered it was ND, and no it was serious.
And bikes started taking over Europe bsky.app/profile/davi...
Iβm not in game dev, but have played with Bevy, and itβs really awesome.
I think this is about the temperature but honestly it works for decades as well
Weβre getting close, but havenβt eclipsed peak prices from the β70s.
Good things happened because of that. People bought smaller more fuel efficient cars. The moped took off.
Today that will translate to more EV sales. The e-bike will gain even more traction. Expensive oil is good for the planet.
That is literally not how it works. Single stair mid-rise buildings are a fixture everywhere in the developed and developing world.
The U.S. is a petulant outlier in all things urban planning so stop letting The New York Times tell you to ignore the evidence of your own eyes
The most important thing we can do across the US is electoral reform. Ranked-Choice or Approval voting would fix many of our election issues.
Similarly, we need to kill off the Electoral College.
Both parties survive because people often donβt have real choice.
The grandson of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups creator has launched a campaign against The Hershey Company, which owns the Reese's brand. He wants them to stop skimping on ingredients.
PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS: βWeβve let the lies be far too successful, and thatβs significantly hurt our cities. No more.β
Itβs our blunt NEW @usa.streetsblog.org op-ed sharing why weβve created @urbantruth.bsky.social. SPOILER: We need to call out the lies and tell the truth much more persuasively!
Hopkins Street is back, but the news isnβt good. A new proposal would pave the street without previously-approved bicycle and transit improvements.

Thatβs absolutely true. Curbs next to bikes should be beveled, not squared. Not sure why they do that. Is it cheaper?
Thatβs a bidirectional protected intersection. The one shared in this thread looks smaller so probably will only be marked for a single direction.
I think thatβs intentional. It appears to adopt a protected intersection style in order to reduce the chance of a car cutting someone off bc of a blind spot, it instead puts the bicyclist in front of a drivers windshield.

I wonder what this means for AI generated software? I mean this makes sense to me. If AI training is deemed fair use, then the product of that canβt be copyrighted.
Itβs like a bizarre way for the GPL to be carried directly into all software companies using generative AI.
I love it every time my friend @coachbalto.bsky.social lands another celebrity collab. It just spreads the message that we can have kid-friendly cities.
If I wanted to read shitty tweets written by shitty people, I would be on Twitter. The whole reason I'm here is to not read those shitty tweets.
I donβt have a lot of skin in it. Iβm just enjoying watching McKennie and Pulisic do well in Italy.
Iβm a McKennie fan. Most reliable and consistent player on Juve.
Well, an assist off his head anyway.
Juveβs not out. I predict a tying header from McKennie yet to come.
That sprint, he was not getting caught.
Yes, I was specifically referring to the post I replied to, not celebrating the struggling line.
Some fun good news today, thank you for sharing!
People clearly want to ride the 7 - there was a bus party to celebrate the line and the bus was filled to capacity!
It goes through many residential areas to multiple commercial areas and BART stations.
But people canβt rely on a bus that runs once an hour.
