It’s not a secret you need a top top 5-7 player to actually win a chip so nearly every team takes the chance. Especially considering Luka lost a lot of money with the trade, he would lose even more if left the incumbent team that got him. I do think gen pop is underrating AD as a return though

I guess my point is even 31 year old AD is better than a handful of future unknown value FRPs. Still wild Dallas even traded him and even if AD was the whole point of the trade they should have been able to get more from LA
Dallas got fleeced in this trade but to say they got less than Utah (I’m an Utah fan) is really underrating AD. For example, AD would most definitely fetch more than Gobert if put up for trade today.
Ah gotcha. Mistook the Pelinka being withholding about what the deal was as a worry Ainge could butt in. Would’ve been awesome if Dallas opened up the conversation outside of AD though - Jazz would’ve been at the top of the list of teams with most to offer
