I'm thinking of the dev team. I've worked on multi-year dev projects and the conflicting feelings about finishing can be surprising. It's still my 'child' and I want it to do well. But it's also exhausting maintaining attention and detail. Thanks to the team. Really looking forward to this release.

I feel I got a crazy good deal without knowing it back then. The maturation model that Hinterland have used is different to everything else I've played. And this is coupled with a community of players that are pretty friendly.

Compare this to TLD. After playing for about 8 years, the graphics have been seriously improved, the number of regions is more than I could have hoped for, the upgraded mechanics are terrific, Tales From The Far Territories is excellent, and the Trader is an intelligent extension.

But is the game so very different? - well ... no. The graphics are great and there are some updates but nothing revolutionary since TSW2. And, to be fair, I'm not hanging out for changes.

I've started playing Train Sim World 4 again as my last PC was underpowered. It's reinforced just how much value there is in The Long Dark. TSW4 is a great experience btw, but I'll never buy a lot of routes. I bought TSW2, then TSW3 and TSW4 at good prices. TSW6 is coming out now!
