When I tell people that in addition to all the standard ‘90s kids fare, I was heavily raised on Full Moon movies as a child, they act like that’s such a huge divide. But honestly MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS is *the* most Charles Band idea I’ve ever heard.

👀 September 18th, 2020. Finally, SLICES OF JULIE is published. The first of three anthologies. Still planning to film the script someday, I decide on a short story collection rather than direct adaptation. I end the tweet by saying, "I would be in the Julie business if I could."

TV networks need to embrace the kind of programming we all want to see, like a PUPPET MASTER marathon that's specifically the entries that include Leech Woman.

👀 February 8th, 2014/ March 11th, 2017. From 2006-2010 I had written a Julie script every year even though the first one hadn't even been made yet, culminating in "Death of Julie." Regretting that and missing her, I tease a few potential returns over the years. I wind up writing neither of them.

Exceptional takedown of a kind of guy we all want to see taken down these days, but still plays with the concept of who you're supposed to root for

Another crucial moment: around the 3rd or 4th draft in 2012, the script is graciously read by BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON screenwriter David Stieve, who gives tremendous feedback that impacts the next draft, and then things really start cooking.

👀 August 2nd, 2009. After sending it out, I get legitimate feedback from readers on JULIE. I'm a little too over the moon for a 3.5 star review, but that's nothing to scoff at especially for a first draft written by a high-schooler. Second draft is written almost immediately after receiving this.

"Well, let me tell ya, in the mid-'90s there was a movie we were obsessed with above all others: DARK ANGEL: THE ASCENT. We'd wait in line for hours for DARK ANGEL: THE ASCENT. When the video store ran out we'd scream, 'give me my DARK ANGEL: THE ASCENT!'"

Harry's the best because he's so driven by obsession yet has such a working-class, normal guy paying the bills, "I'm not even supposed to be here today" energy.

The show could so easily be Harry D'Amour getting involved in weird fucking corners of the Barker mythology at large, every single week.

The thing that would rock about a general Clive Barker universe TV show is that while King's works are full of references, and obviously tie together in DARK TOWER, Barker's always been one to sign off on explicit crossovers. SCARLET GOSPELS, HELLRAISER/NIGHTBREED, NIGHTBREED VS. RAWHEAD REX, etc.

👀 February 7th, 2007, I write about Julie for a senior year high school creative writing class "character sketch" assignment.

What's hilarious is that this post was directly in response to being told this release would not include it. I am very happy that person was wrong, although both of us had the power to look it up for ourselves.

Really gives a great sense of perspective to see that half of this list is exactly what it was 20 years ago.

What we need is a release of SALEM'S LOT that includes "The Movie" cut. Not the best way to watch it, yes, I'm absolutely aware. But I grew up on it and it saves time. Sometimes you just need a lil' snack size SALEM'S LOT.

👀 October 15th, 2006, at seventeen years old, my coming-of-age slasher script JULIE is completed, about an unapologetic, sarcastic, gleefully evil teenage girl. She remains my favorite character I've ever created. Out of everything I've written, this remains the closest to my heart.

Man is doing everything in the world not to make his tenth and final film without even considering that you simply do not need to arbitrarily decide that your tenth film is your last. This is a problem you invented.
