Third self portrait from the set. Accidental success from the test shot with reference cards from very near the start of the shoot. Your picture has finished loading BTW; I'm shooting tethered - the camera is being controlled from the computer in front of me.

Granddog Compo had an encounter with a strange dog on the opposite side of the road. He had to be taken out to meet it because he was getting angrier and angrier.

Journalist, monetiser, influencer, activist, poet, accountant (who points out that that makes 6 not 4.)

2nd new self portrait. Supposed to be the nice, "normal" one. The one I'll use for an (arts) business profile pic. Supposed to say "Trust me". Hard to judge one's own image, so I dunno, maybe it says, "Thinly disguised psycopath."

Oak-pin : Cudoniella acicularis : England : VC40 Shropshire : SJ4620 : November 2025 : On Quercus stump

Tiny, delicate oak-pin #fungus (Cudoniella acicularis). Not true mushroom despite shape! Produces spores in asci or 'sacs' within 'pinhead', not from gills under 'umbrella'. Widespread in Britain but not common (or maybe just underrecorded). This one on rotting oak stump in Old Wood LWS, Shropshire.

But I saw a 1920s woman in an oversized bucket hat kissing her shorter, bald, 'Diary of a Nobody' type, bank manager husband.

A Gothic alabaster font, carved with biblical scenes & the lion of St Luke, supported on a central pillar.

A harvest mouse perching on some dry grass. Its prehensile tail is wrapped around one of the stalks, helping it to balance.

A captive harvest mouse photographed at the British Wildlife Centre. These mice are classified as near threatened in the UK. The centre breeds them for release into the wild. This chap will be given his freedom once his modelling days are over.
