I'm learning more about Japanese pro wrestling in recent years. I did at least recognise Antonio Inoki on the cover! ๐
My brother and my nephews had no clue and Google lens wasn't helpful.
They were speculating that it was a game about angry men and that maybe the goal was to make them happy. ๐
Thank you, Chi!
Yes, it was a surprise gift from a friend and truthfully, I had never heard of this game before. I do appreciate a fun grappling game, though.
That reminds me that I still need to track down a copy of that Fire Pro Wrestling game on SFC starring Dump Matsumoto!
Thanks very much.
Got some cool gifts for my 50th birthday, last Sunday.

Wow!
And I love Gradius, Salamander and Fire Emblem as well.
The 9 Games That Define Me
I've narrowed down the games that shook my life to its core.
Especially Drum Mania, which launched in 1999, has profoundly influenced my career.
It's no exaggeration to say my life as a drummer began with this game.

I'm happy you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed this, guys. Defender (Planetoid on the BBC Micro) was one of the first STGs I ever played, so the conversation brought back a lot of memories โบ๏ธ. Good stuff guys โ๐ฟ.
Always! ๐
Congratulations, well played!
Today I played Battle Garegga at my regular arcade.
Cleared it on one coin with Dragon Man Miyamoto.
Also took down the Black Heart & B.H. Mark IIโsaid to be the galaxy's strongest fighter for rear attacks.
The combination of ninjutsu and dragon is just the best, isn't it?

Being on a podcast with something of a childhood hero (and a Mean Yob iykyk) such as @jazrignall.bsky.social to talk classic arcade games is a moment that will be hard to top this year, for me.
Had a lot of fun on this podcast talking about one of my all-time favorite games that I also just happened to be a bit tasty at playing.
Quite a moment for me to have Jaz on the podcast.
I was never able to beat him when I was young. I had to return to settle the score as an adult lol
Same here. The Galaxy Force II moving cabinet was a life changing event to me and cemented SEGA in my mind as kings of the arcades, in the late 80s. :)
I look very much forward to hanging out as well!
Some (but not all) of the games that were most important to me, over the years.

Thanks Tom!
When I finally decided to go back to my childhood favorite Castlevania with the aim to clear it, I was forced to defeat Death with the cross as well!
Itโs far from an Indie Game: The Movie type of singular promotion piece, but my @hitpstudio.bsky.social buddy and I made it into this upcoming documentary film. ๐

Haha, that is excellent!
Shout out to Maruyama
#scanlinesunday contribution (I usually forget!).
35 years ago, I wrote this Pilotwings review. I thought it deserved a higher rating than this, while Matt felt the game's high level of difficulty made it somewhat frustrating - so we met in the middle at 90%. Either way, this was THE game to show off your SNES to your mates!
Nice. Was that called Alcon or Slap Fight?
