My sympathies, but it could be worse? Some us live in Alberta...

She/Her A very tired environmental scientist that probably should have done something artsy. I love reading, fibre arts (crochet, tunisian crochet, knitting), painting, collecting art, all that good stuff. π¨π¦

$70 million for Turkish Tylenol
$478,000 for 2 years in storage
$718,000 for disposal
But immigrants are the problem in Alberta, right Danielle?

I was thinking those illustrations would be cool tattoos except I would never stop trying to myself. For the insect-loving though!
Those look like ribbon dresses. They are likely First Nations people and their families were here before any of us. Certainly couldn't blame them for feeling that way.
Before my dad died of cancer last March (at 67) he took great joy in driving right wing nutjobs crazy online with facts and logic. Can't imagine what he would have thought of the last year and wish he were here to reassure me!
This is Trump's America.
Having a hard time functioning because I can no longer delude myself that people care about SA and even child SA. Wondering if I was only ever 'ok' because I believed other people would have been outraged and done the right thing but now I have to face a very different reality. #epstein #trauma
The Scott research farm is really close to our farm. It has always done amazing things, great research and field days, brought together community. A real shame when they are cut.
Yeah, as a Canadian I have been trying to be supportive of the Americans who didn't vote for this insanity but this comment section is pretty freaky, so much gun love. More guns being the answer to guns is a very American solution. Trying my hard not to judge.
Don't forget environment. So much I would love to say on that but can't. It's not good.
Anyone who doubts an Alberta Police Force would be closer to ICE than the RCMP needs to pay closer attention to detail. And motive.
Cool
Yeah, the blind devotion to a leader is problematic regardless of party.
I don't think Canadians realize what a lot of public service jobs do for them and it will take time for them to see the potential effects. We are used to presuming things are protected, or safe and effective, without realizing that companies don't do that out of kindness of their hearts.
Is it fear? I know I'm pretty scared right now. I can see what Carney's doing and I don't like a lot of it. I'm trying not to compromise my morals but I also recognize I am also somewhat desperate for any hint of safety and security.
I was the mean mom in the store last night explaining to my son that we were not getting those water flavour squirty things because they are all American π
Feeling for all the professionals being axed from the federal civil service. Canadians take for granted that the environment and human health are being protected but it actually involves a lot of people working behind the scenes that get no credit both within gov and outside of it.

Sigh... if someone could just let me know when to sell my house and bail on Alberta before the separatists and US bribes get their way that would be great. I am so tired. I know, I know, it could be worse.
Not that my husband will ever give up his beloved cough syrup no matter how much science I share! π€£
I think it's similar to cough syrup in that while we all assumed it was good it did the opposite of intended. For polysporin it doesn't actually help you heal, could create resistant bacteria and I think there is a possibility to create allergic reactions the more you use it?
Please help us bring Liam Adrian Cornejo Ramos (heβs only 5 years of age and is currently in pre-K. Yesterday, he and his father were kidnapped by ICE. This will help the family with legal services to help reunite Liam and his dad with their family.

Well they are online telling me it is Canada and other countries' fault the US is doing poorly because we are unfair meanies! Oh no, not the ultra-wealthy, just me sitting here in Canada.
Also just the usual hypocritical things, advertising around the world for skilled talent in sciences and medical research while simultaneously cutting them from the federal public service. Admittedly, better than the alternative by leaps and bounds but some of us still hope for more!
He's not progressive enough for some of us. Pushing through projects w/o enviro assessment, more defense spending. Sure we may have to focus on that right now thanks to the US but climate and other priorities are gone. Defense and oil and gas are not exactly new thinking and fund the same folks.
I'm with you on 2) but I still really needed the speech today. Maybe we'll be more likely to act together with other countries? Seems like we are all too petrified to stick our necks out alone.
Keyhole
Glad to hear some people are thinking it. I feel pretty hopeless about it living in Alberta. The money speaks so loudly and these companies have a chokehold on us, and our minds.
He doesn't give a crap abput international law or NATO. Honestly, I'm becoming pretty disillusioned with them myself. When will they do anything? I feel like I'm catching on that Santa isn't real but on a global scale.
Yep, none of us are off the table. They are banking on the world's inaction on Venezuela because of this ridiculous 'drug threat' bs and basically not caring about brown people? Still, no one is safe. Canada could be the next Ukraine and I'm not sure anyone would stick their neck out for us.
Not sure how she and her idiotic separatists ever thought the US would respect and create wealth for an independent Alberta. I mean, seriously?
