youtu.be/tnAJntI3NNs It’s in the permanent rotation.
In addition to my writing, back in the day I used to be a stage performer. Well, 25 years later, I’m back with a simple, undemanding role… (yup, that’s me with jet-black hair…)

First dress rehearsal last night for #SweeneyTodd. I haven’t been on stage for 25 years, so returning was intimidating enough, let alone as the Demon Barber. But that feeling… the audience, the music… it never gets old!
Thank you so much!
Very well. She’s also in the show, playing the Beggar Woman, which if you know the story makes for a fascinating dynamic! So we’re both quite tired but having a great time.

Yes, playing Sweeney in our local production of Sweeney Todd, which opens in ten days. Writing novels now, got an agent and a publishing deal, and then the publisher got sold so all in a bit of limbo, but c'est la vie. Bought a house in a lovely small town, and got this big lad (Zeus). (Not my kid!)
Doing well here too! Feeling very lucky in this mad world. Back on stage, which feels odd after all these years, but lots of fun. What have you been up to? “See” any of the ol’ Twitter film gang?
Today, the most dreaded words in #theatre... "cue to cue". See you on the other side. #SweeneyTodd #WLSTS
How are you, great lady? Has life been treating you well?
The pity about the #Taskmaster finale is no more weekly doses of Jack Dee and Rosie Jones.
Please always remember that this is not that universe.
A vital skill when it comes to being a creator (or lots of other areas too) is giving yourself grace. Other demands, state of the world, whatever.
Give yourself time.
Be disciplined, yes, but also be kind to yourself. The "You should be writing" constant chant leads to burnout.
it's official — 1,000,000 people have joined Bluesky in just the last day!!!
welcome and thank you for being here 🥳
A portrait photo of Stephen Sondheim, as an older man. He wears a dark sweater and leans forward resting his chin on his crossed arms, looking at the camera with an enigmatic expression.
Audition for Sweeney Todd, they said. It'll be fun, they said... after a 25 year break from the stage.
Now 2 weeks until opening night and it is very clear just how much of a genius this man was and how challenging his music is.
Ah well. I'll try to be a memorable Demon Barber of Fleet Street!

Greetings to my new followers! Going to try to post more here. So for a start, how about some pics of the recent Tsuchinshan-ATLAS comet?
