Having been listening to various remixes of Two Tribes and being reminded of the dreaded Threads, I'm glad the BBC News headline banner has finally reduced in size to normal. Feel like I can calm down a bit now.

Not you who has done it, but I do feel like this quite a lot. A bit like people saying you should go on a TV show or win a pub quiz, because you know thereβs always someone out there better than you. I apologise if that sounds a bit big-headed. It probably says more about me than anything else.
What annoys me about this is the same thing that happens when reading about how certain BBC comedy shows are rejected or meddled with by the upper echelons: the executives are always nameless and always get away with it. Name and shame so we can get some creative and inspiring people in.
Always wished Tim Curry had been in a long-running sitcom.
I remember him mentioning an episode in his autobiography where someone was playing along watching a TV in a shop window and they turned the set off. Not sure how early or late in the run it was though.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social Another potential guest for your podcast? :)
Roses are red,
The earth is a globe,
You're authorised to use...
Is there Pussy Galore?
So is the current series (series 9) his last? As long as they donβt give it to Stephen Mulhern. Would also like an edition for the general public.
Regime changey.
I think itβs about time he got a cleaner (from the Yellow Pages).
@gmcgiv.bsky.social Are you going to be in the upcoming Ghosts movie?
Fantastic! Will Katy Wix and Geoffrey McGivern both be involved?
Cometh the Hunt, hummeth the cβ¦ooh, no, no, donβt hum it!
Oh smeg.
That whole series 3, including Utopia, was marvellously constructed and the reveal of The Master was so eagerly awaited that it genuinely did make me punch the air for joy.
This is essentially peak BBC comedy for me, and peak...everything really!
I disagree. I think the series as a whole serves as a lovely epilogue to Porridge. It also shows a slightly more grumpy side to Fletcher when faced with the outside world again. Also, the first episode doesn't have Patricia Brake saying "DAYAD!"
For me, it was when series 6 split in half that I started to slowly fall out of love for the show. I hate split series.
Iβm glad you feel more free to speak about P&O now. I share your frustration.
Arenβt Comcast in talks with ITV rather than STV? I wouldβve thought it more sensible for ITV to buy STV and then be bought by Comcast, rather than Comcast buying each separately.
Happiness is hegg-shaped.
Lovely juggly.
I really wish ITV plc would just buy them out at this point. Itβs not like theyβd do a worse job than the STV Group are doing right now.
Channel 4βs blocks called from the 80s/90s, they want their themed ident back.
Tony Robinson wouldβve been good on a Wacaday style programme, I suspect.
Would he be willing to do a full wide-ranging interview on the history of Saturday morning with you?
