Antigenic map of H5 influenza viruses spanning their evolutionary history. 3 clusters (surprisingly few!) w no cross immunity. 6 key aa identified. 2344b, 2321a, 2344h in different clusters. Big jump in antigenicity from 234 to 2344b important finding.

The alternation between βclassicβ and surprising periods of evolution of #SARS-CoV-2 continues, and we studied a panel of virus with large diffusion worldwide, including JN.1!
I share this short video segment (in prep for a course) to give context on the impact of some variants: youtu.be/HStoiF2kVUg
Animation showing the major SARS-CoV-2 lineage that circulated, using France as an example.
Very happy to share this work on #SARS-CoV-2 evolution now published in Nature Communications, a collaboration with the @Virus_Immunity lab at Institut Pasteur and many great colleagues. Thanks a lot to all !

Microscopy imaging of human bronchial cells with TMPRRS2 staining in green, by Vincent Michel and colleagues.
Super honored to have made a tiny contribution to this very cool work by the Virus_Immunity lab @InstitutPasteur and the identification of TMPRSS2 as a functional receptor for seasonal coronavirus HKU1 ! t.co/0g4XrVMRel
