On Tuesday this week, we welcomed over 40 pupils from eight Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT) schools that are part of the Music in Schools Programme to form a special choir for the DDAT Celebration Service.

On Friday, two of our Choristers and one of our Junior Choral Scholars performed as part of our Friday Lunchtime Concert with fellow students from Derby High School. Congratulations to all on some very fine performances!

On Monday, it was a pleasure to welcome Charles and Emily from Gabrieli for Roar Explore workshops as part of our Music in Schools Programme. Over the course of the day, they worked with over 200 pupils from Derby Cathedral School and Littleover Community School.
Many congratulations to our newly promoted Full Choristers and to those who have received their Royal School of Church Music Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. The future is very bright in their hands after a cracking set of results. #Congratulations #WellDone

Two of our Choristers and one of our Junior Choral Scholars are having an amazing time on Gabrieli Roar. Tonight, theyโre singing Haydnโs The Seasons at Ely Cathedral. Weโre very excited to welcome Gabrieli in January for a collaboration with the Cathedral Choir and our Music in Schools Programme.
The performers consisted of those that learn as part of the keyboard pathway of our Music in Schools Programme, our Junior Organ Scholar and two students from Trent College, which whom we enjoy a close partnership. Well done, everyone - you played brilliantly!

Yesterday, we welcomed 180 Year 7 pupils from Derby Cathedral School to their Celebration Concert as part of the Music in Schools Programme. Each class sang a movement of Jonah-Man Jazz, before all joining together to sing โThe best that you can beโ. Well done, everyone - it sounded amazing! ๐

It was a great delight for the Cathedral Choir to open the proceedings at the Civic Awards Ceremony at the University of Derby this evening. The Cathedral enjoys a close partnership with the University of Derby and it was a pleasure to come and sing at such a special event.
