Spotted this bad boy of ROCK at Newborne Springs #Suffolk earlier today. . . No idea what it is. . . Any ideas Blue-sky wildlife nation.
If I had to name it, it would be a gold striped long horn moth. Or Brian to his mates.
#sneakybirding activated ; )
Try loading my Blackcap video again. . . I dun it wong agen dad. . . Rolly eye emoji.
My son sent me this from the Greek island of Rhodes. . .
I think it's a ladybird spider. . . He says it's very poisonous? ? I don't think you're supposed to eat them though right.
A very welcome visitor to our #Suffolk #garden yesterday. A beautiful male Blackcap.
Crackalackin.
I haven't seen a House Martin in Suffolk yet. Really worrying times for them I feel. Swifts are back, but not big numbers. No real screaming parties yet.
The irony of this all happening was that I had insisted we had time to shower after our pre breakfast birding before heading out again. . . I had my mobile phone in my pocket and got a proper telling off when we got back for not calling Jane to let her know we were O.K etc.
In my haste to get a look at it I tried to step over this bit of boggy Marsh and ended up to my neck in it. Holding my binoculars above my head, Steve just looked at me and said 'bloody hell, you're keen'.
I was on a trip in Bialowezia with Steve, Mark and Eric da weasel many years ago and Mark suddenly shouted 'SNAKE'. . .
Well done Paul, I would have been right there with ya.
Couldn't agree more, I fear for my children really I do.
I can't believe this, but my First EVER trip to #SWTCarltonmarshes today with Jane and David P. Amazing views of the red footed falcons. Decided to celebrate with a cheeky cuppa and missed a bloody BOOTED EAGLE. . . Can't win em all.
##sneakybirding activated on a recent trip to #Madeira just happened to turn up right in the middle of the #Rum #festival #ohdear hence no madieran firecrest on this occasion so I suppose they'll be another festival soon right?
Second small copper of the year at hen reedbeds today, posed better than the first, but still not exactly the money shot is it.
Sometimes ya just gotta #southwold
Just about to have a fantastic scrub site bulldozed for more posh houses in woodbridge. . . Right behind Nightingale close where would you believe it there are no longer Nightingales singing.
Tree #woodbridge easy to see why #woodbridge is the happy epicentre of the whole wide world.
Our gorgeous garden Blackbird has been busy feeding young so hopefully we'll be seeing the fledglings soon.
@Janiep perspective on a walk under the endless Suffolk skies at Sudbourne Marsh and Captains wood yesterday and a sneaky first of year #small copper #butterfly at Upper Hollesley Common earlier today. . . Would it pose for the photo opportunity? No buddy, no it wouldn't.
I Can't imagine how you're going to feel when you hear Prince when doves cry. . . It's what you youngsters call an oldie ; )
