One thing I have not seen much grappling with: the Trump Administration has acted illegally with respect to the National Guard & Marines in LA plus the whole parade nonsense is a federal show of power, but cops ostensibly controlled by local governments in blue cities attacked protestors yesterday.
Trump didn’t order CMPD to pepper spray protestors in Charlotte, Trump’s Marines didn’t open up with tear gas in LA, Trump didn’t tell cops in Savannah to detain a protestor for wearing a medical mask. It’s worth asking why electeds in those heavily blue places won’t answer for any of that.

I suppose the only way this could not turn out well is if somehow the Trump Administration is lying for some reason about something, or may be intent on using the law targeting corporate mergers in some nefarious, evil way, like as leverage over vast media companies, for instance. It seems unlikely.
Here's a good rule I go by. If it seems like the Trump Administration is doing something good, you need to check it again, because they are actually doing something evil which you missed. This will be true 100% of the time with no margin of error.
I know we can't advocate for "that thing" anywhere, but oops, there is literally only one appropriate and sufficient response that would have protected the community against this piece of shit.
It's galling that no one there had the integrity to stand with those parents and their poor kid.
