Yes. I trained two 24 year olds and was then replaced by them. Laid off on a Zoom call at the start of 2022.

As a person who enjoys a winter walk, I rescued a mixed-breed dog who's 1/4 husky. Turns out she dislikes the cold and I have to push her out the door once it dips below 40. π
That's my baby girl there shouting at the table. Juror #4!
For my last story as a staff reporter, The Daily Memphian let me write this one about famous local cats.
I used to think the 2020 Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference was the stupidest press conference of all time, but the 2025 Tylenol presser was even stupider.
As a mother raising my child alone, I prefer "solo parent."
Amazing. Respect the lede.
Spotted this gorgeous pileated woodpecker on a tree in the parking lot of Overton Park's East Parkway Pavilion yesterday.
Okay but the new pope looks like Gary Sinise. Both from Illinois, too.
He's super cute, and I love how birdy it sounds there in the clip. Peak migration season!
I will be speaking with an ornithologist for a story this week. I'll ask her and report back to you!
Yep. I (raised Catholic) used to live in Ulster and now I'm in Tennessee and I've heard the same anti-Catholic rhetoric in both places. Very Paisley-esque down here!
I live in a permitless carry state. It's INSANE.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this one!
Held the door for an elderly woman coming out of a Memphis grocery, then overheard her convo with another woman, telling her too "be careful" tomorrow because those pesky protestors will be out. Seems the Fox News crowd is freaked out by the thought of young folks taking to the streets tomorrow.
Ron and I used to work together, and he is a sweetheart.
Standing ovation for @timothysnyder.bsky.social at the end of his talk, βOn Freedom and Just Habits of Mind," at Rhodes College in Memphis this afternoon. π
Today I lost an NIH grant training clinicians to do research about intimate partner violence with perinatal women.
More women are murdered in the perinatal period than die of obstetric complications.
I didn't just lose a grant. We lost an entire cohort of people building careers to prevent that.
It's so hard. Still miss my Frankie, found abandoned in a park w/ epilepsy. My buddy for 14 years. Took 4 years after his death for me to adopt another dog. Found her on death row listed as "Maki," my surname -- the sign I needed. She's now a mouthy, spoiled jerk named Daphne and I love her.
It was surprisingly delightful to cover Match Day for medical students, who open envelopes to find out where they will train as doctors after graduation. The photos showcase their joy and enthusiasm.
Amid a national measles outbreak, Tennessee has confirmed its first case this year.
WATCH: WILSON COUNTY Rep. Susan Lynn called out by for doing the βYMCAβ dance to mock Tennesseans as they protested the cruel Lamberth bill to keep undocumented kids out of schools
Enjoyed a lovely stroll through the grounds of the Dixon Gallery & Gardens in Memphis this morning. The arrival of spring is a balm in a world that feels awfully heavy right now.
Looking forward to serving on this panel today.
On this St. Patrick's Day, my desk photo of the Irish immigrants who raised me: my mother & paternal granny, waving the tricolor. Snapped in Connecticut in 1995, when I was in university. Both long departed, I miss them daily but especially today. Proud to be part of the Irish & Donegal diaspora. π
If you get a good answer, let me know! Verizon just increased my monthly bill by $15 with no additional benefits. I am looking for a new carrier, as well.
If your dad was born in Limerick, you're already an Irish citizen. You just need to get his birth cert by mail. Upload everything online and you'll get your Irish passport in a few months. www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/passp...
The Cape is so pretty. My best friend lives by a big pond with a little beach in Brewster.
