Excited to launch our 1st Antibody Developability AI competition today on huggingface!
Show off your modelβs ability to predict developability of Abs - most common request we get from biopharmas! And win $60K in prizesπ
Excited to do more of these at

discovery gets more expensive every year, not less.
We've unlocked experimental abundance in genomics (reading DNA) but nowhere else yet in a general way -- especially once you include any DNA design in the mix.
Need to really get to work on this problem !!
We need experimental abundance in bioengineering.
So much of biological science is trying to squeeze as much learning as possible out of a very small amount of raw experimental data -- because making that data is insanely expensive. We're hitting the limits of that approach -- this is why drug π§΅
Itβs been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). Iβm reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.
Sign up to get updates on our Ferment series ! Bunch of great events this year !ππ§¬ππ§¬
Headed to SLAS (Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening) in San Diego !
What lab automation do you find useful / innovative ? Let me know in comments and I'll check it out and post after SLAS.
Ginkgo's new reconfigurable automation carts at booth # 2651 ! Come visit!
Join us for a pre-JPM happy hour on Sunday, January 12th from 4-7pm PT in Downtown SF (The Box SF, 1069 Howard St).
Always fun to have a drink next to some robots :)

2025 going to be a big year for biotech. Donβt sleep on the most important of all the tech :) Happy New Year everyone!! π¦π§¬π
Excited to launch public data sets on commercial treatments and human cell lines and making available to folks training AI models in biology.
Please download below and play around ! We can also make custom sets for your cell line or perturbation of interest !

Made a biotech founders starter pack, DM me to be added!

Any models you find most useful today ?
Any practicing scientists including Geneformer in your workflow?
Just curious if starting to see scientists at the bench using models like this to explore possible experiments in silico before deciding what experiments to subsequently do in the lab.

Youβd just want to build something bigger once youβve solved gene design w AI. We still need better synthesis
We need to speed up design-build-test cycles in bioengineering
Bluesky should kill the word limit, that did make twitter easier to use. Making threads is a lot of work π

Wowza the starter pack thing is an amazing idea. πππ
Great thread here of scientist starter packs
Yeah this is something I want to do β help elevate the internal automation experts in biotech companies to more powerful voices in their orgs. You are correct they donβt often have the needed power today to effect change in how R&D is done.
Started creating a synthetic biology starter pack. Still missing many so reply here if I forgot you or someone else.

If we donβt solve lab automation we never get the scale economics in biotech that tech has seen. We gotta do it π§¬π€
At ginkgo we bought Zymergen because they had by far the best modular integrated automation on the market. Both hardware and software. We had been keeping it to ourselves but Iβm selling it now. Check it out here if you want to build an automation core
