Americans are about to experience living under an unelected and imposed fiscal control board, much like Puerto Ricans have since 2016. Call it DOGE or something else; PR's case shows that it is big money that benefits—ordinary people are left to bear the burden—facing higher living costs in fact.
Undermining a publicly funded media system makes perfect sense if clearing a path for graft, corruption, and a lack of accountability is the goal.

In 2019 Trump tried to block federal funds that were authorized by Congress and did not succeed. He delayed more than $20 billion dollars in federal aid for Puerto Rico after the archipelago was devastated by Hurricane Maria. The President does not have the power to do this. It's unconstitutional.

The bill targeting nonprofits, HR 9495, just passed the House 219 - 184, 30 not voting. It now goes to the Senate committee. If it doesn't get through the Senate, it's possible it will be added to a continuing resolution or defense spending bill. Stay vigilant!
