Distortion-product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) offer a non-invasive, passive (especially valuable for patients who may be too unwell for detailed behavioral testing) window, but standing waves from sounds bouncing around in the ear canal throw off measurements at these higher frequencies.πŸ‘‚
