So glad the city just got finished ripping out all of the outdoor streateries now that it's sunny and 80.
Equivalent to a 20yo today knowing who Elvis is, would be me in the early aughts knowing who The Drifters, Dean Martin or Perry Como was, which I did.
I think a lot about how we knew what came before, and without the benefit of the internet at our fingertips. What changed?
Conversely, I think this reality DID happen for a lot of people...those who are now in charge of our institutions and leadership. And they have to believe it was true for the majority of others or they would have to admit they grew up wealthy and not "middle class" like they've always believed
Regular exercise is linked to slower biological aging - but only in people sleeping 7+ hours.
People who slept under 6 hours and exercised actually aged faster.
The Paralympics start today and WE HAVE A HEIST????
The US has spent nearly a century zoning one place for residential, an entirely separate place for commercial, and then requiring that we drive back and forth between the two. This results in constant complaining about being stuck in traffic.
Everyone thinks this is normal.
The level of rage I feel daily at Chrome's split view.
Dragging a tab out to a new window? Oh, surely you meant split view! Trying to figure out how to close split view and go back to separate tabs? Surely you mean closing one of those tabs.
Flames. Flames on the side of my face.
Great. Time to get emotionally invested in someone else's offspring again... www.yahoo.com/news/article...

We got you.
Most of the people I know who work in tech refuse to have anything "smart" or IoT in their homes. Some have even downgraded to dumb phones as their mobile devices of choice.
Listen. I love Martin Scorsese. But if I have to watch another film with a 3 hour run-time about historical cops that stars Leonardo DiCaprio...
Look. All I'm saying is this hockey game would be easier to watch if the teams weren't both wearing the same jersey. #Olympics #USAHockey
THRILLING! But, also, my anxiety is so glad that didn't go the full 20 minutes, omg.
My body cannot tell the difference between OT USA vs Canada in the Olympic gold medal hockey game and jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.

Hell of a flex for your tenure file.
Italians would be SICK if they knew there was an ad running during the Olympics in America implying that some Italians intentionally drink Starbucks coffee

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeareβs Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Algorithm fail: Bought a bird feeder on Chewy once as a gift and had it sent to my parents' address.
Autoship and primary address for me and my 10-year-old pet stayed the same.
Today my parents notified me they received the birthday card from Chewy for my cat.
I can only dream of communications strategies that actually tell people why they should care and provide clear explanations for how things work. Incredible stuff.
