It blows that therapy isn't, like, "I acknowledge how this feels," and BLAMMO all better.

When a federal judge (finally) put ICE officers under oath, they admitted that they are given daily detention quotas and rely heavily on a Palantir-supplied AI tool to select targets, without warrants and without enough evidence to obtain one. They simply go into neighborhoods and round people up.
Talk in person soon?
... All of the above. The world, the politics - I think they're making my personal life trust much more difficult, because the emotional overwhelm is so massive, the ability to emotionally regulate is failing
I'm at a point where I genuinely don't know anymore if any of my reactions are reasonable or if I'm blowing things out of proportion because I'm trying to not lose my actual mind in this timeline
Fun fact: PMS isn't only linked to having reproductive organs?
Either that's true, or I'm just unreasonably aggro. Which is possibly true, given the neverending stream of insanity and its predictable mental impacts
Ok, look
Oof. I'm sorry your job is endangering your health, love
My brain is pulling a major Bartleby lately. About basically everything
It's wild to me how much of AI training in the workplace is about responsible use and the need for ongoing human oversight due to potential flaws in its data, and how many companies are like "humans? Pft, who needs em? We have AI now!" The direct contradiction pains me
I think I'm in an emotional state because of *waves generally* and my brain is like "... Ok, but how can we unwind in an apocalypse?" And smoking/drinking immediate press the mental levers and switches
It's been years since I quit smoking anywhere other than major social events, and even longer since I quit drinking. But at this specific moment in time, I have to acknowledge that I'm really struggling with them both.
"Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in <strike>Vietnam</strike> ol' Iran
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun...
Whoospie, we're all gonna die"

Be able to leverage it, but also keep your own skills sharp
The thing about these anti-abortion bills, resolutions, and laws is that they end up criminalising religious freedom. And more than the right to health care - because we know that's not a goal for the right - that's terrifying to me.
NEW: Over the past year, we've been collecting thousands of financial disclosure documents from across the Trump administration. Now we're making them searchable. Look up names, assets, former employers across 1,500+ Trump appointees and 3,000+ ethics documents.
And zines. And pen pals. And shows.
Reminder: long before we had social media, people organised against tyranny and oppressive regimes.
RESULT: Rodney Sadler defeats state Representative Carla Cunningham in a Democratic primary in North Carolina. Cunningham had provided the state GOP with the decisive vote last year to pass a bill forcing compliance with ICE.
Affirming my understanding that me putting on jeans and bra almost immediately after I wake up is... Not the Everyone move I thought it was
HUBBA HUBBA
All I want to do is read and make art. Why isn't that a viable career path?
*sobbing*
Um. There's plenty of people across the globe outside of the Americas that think of it as a monolith. But go off, Sovereign. Feels like assuming all Americans are from the United States is a little tied to colonialism, but I'm not trying to change your mind. I think the 20+ other countries matter.
But yes, they were saying that "USians" is stupid, because OBVIOUSLY only people from the US count as Americans, and to suggest otherwise os blasphemy to some folks
I mean, depending on where you learned geography, it could be a single American continent or up to three (north, central/middle, south). Different educational systems teach continents differently, but any way you slice it, there are a fuckload of Americans that aren't from the US
Oof. Yeh. I was thinking about all the "easy buttons" we've allowed companies to install for us, making it ever more difficult to try to be conscientious
I'm unclear on why people find "USians" offensive. I mean, as soon as I saw it, my brain went "oh, yeh, that makes sense." Cos North America contains at least three distinct nations, and Central and South America have another 20. The idea that 22 nations simply don't exist as "Americans" is absurd
What are "house clothes" tho? I basically wear jeans and tees+hoodies every day of the world if I'm hanging around the house, and I'm starting to think that's... Not common.
