Additionally, I'm happy this is slated to release in 2027. That will make it just about 5 years since the previous generation's debut year, which will be the longest we've ever had to wait for a new generation. And I believe that's a good thing, Pokemon game development needed to slow down a bit.

But now, at the very least, the technical failures of Scarlet and Violet (even though I did enjoy those games despite the technical issues) may finally be able to be set aside, which is nice. I've been pretty tired of Pokemon just being the butt of jokes in regards to graphics and technical issues.

Still withholding judgement for other aspects of the game. It may still have issues with formulaic gameplay and story beats that Pokemon has been kind of stuck in for the past decade in my opinion, and it wouldn't surprise me if that kind of continues here once this is out.

I'm extremely thrilled that finally, FINALLY, the visuals of a mainline Pokemon Switch game doesn't have any glaring technical visual issues. No, it's not perfect, and there are better looking games out there. But honestly, I'm okay with this visual fidelity for Pokemon games.
